If there is one man responsible for the existence of Retina Hospital today, it is Dr. P.N. Nagpal, Professor Emeritus and a doyen of Retina, acclaimed internationally. No words would be adequate to express gratitude to his selfless teaching and invaluable advice. He has inspired not just Dr Porwal but many generations of ophthalmologists in India as well as abroad.

Dr. Vachhrajani is an easy-going but precise ophthalmologist who instills a scientific temper in those who watch him closely. His hands at the operating table have a magical artistry to them, he forms the ideal image of a perfect oculoplasty surgeon. His eye for  detail as well as polished approach make him an inspiring figure to his students.

Her supreme dedication to her subject and her patients is unimaginable. She is the perfect Squint surgeon as well as teacher of Strabismology, patiently enduring the never-ending confusions of the students without so much as a wrinkle on her face. Her extremely polite nature and willingness to share her knowledge at all times makes Dr. Kamini Audich an outstanding and inspiring human being.

Dr. ‘RR’ initiating us into the medical world with his high-BMR approach to a mundane subject like Anatomy. His razor-sharp memory has a legendary nostalgia to every JIPMERite who has been taught by him. His gentle nudges and pushes give the right direction and support to the freshers and he remains a standout example of good teaching even after decades to his students.

The achievements and focus of ‘Bala’ through school, college & after that have been inspirational, Dr. Porwal considers himself lucky to have him for a friend since school days. This Anaesthesiologist now in one of the Harvard Hospitals in Boston (USA), is a man of few words but a lot of purpose, and has a distinguished academic and clinical record.
Mr. VISHWAKUMAR & Mr. JAYARAJ
Mr. Jayaraj first showed the value of being perfect by not missing even the little mistakes made, those went a long way in shaping the thinking as a middle-school student.
Mr. Viswakumar was the one to teach the value of being concise & crisp with words, he also had the ability to spot specific talents before we knew it as high-school students.
