The Dinesh Porwal Charitable Trust (DPCT) has been set-up by Retina Hospital in memory of Mr. Dinesh Porwal to honour his philanthropic vision. Though Dinesh Porwal (younger brother of Dr. Mukesh Porwal) left us for his heavenly abode at the young age of 22, his concern and interest in social and community work is sought to be continued by this registered trust in his name.
Mr. DINESH PORWAL
16.02.1978 – 17.09.2000
OBJECTIVES OF DINESH PORWAL CHARITABLE TRUST
To help some of the truly poor and needy people access medical care with dignity.
To help in providing subsidized specialty eye and retina treatment to deserving patients.
To conduct out-reach programmes for detection of undiagnosed treatable retinal diseases.
To spread awareness about retinal problems of public health importance, and
To promote scientific thinking and help in practical education of school drop-out children.
Current activities of DPCT
DPCT now supports the needy patients requiring the services of Retina Hospital in the form of a regular weekly charity OPD on every Wednesday afternoon from January 2016. Economically disadvantaged patients are screened and appropriate treatment including surgeries are provided at nominal charity rates (& if needed even free of cost) to deserving patients. Patients are advised to take specific prior appointment for DPCT OPD to avail the benefits & avoid overcrowding.
Adhering to the above objectives, DPCT provides periodic screened assistance to people from all sections of the society.
