This is not an appeal for donations. Dinesh Porwal Charitable Trust and Retina Hospital strive to provide the best possible treatments at the lowest possible cost to the financially-challenged patients. Investigations and treatments of retinal diseases can be a financial burden to the patients as well as the treating surgeons at times.

On specific request of some well-wishers, information is provided here for interested who want to know how you could help:

• Direct contact or ‘One-to-One’ method:
  Contact can be established between a specific deprived patient and a specific interested sponsor for a specific treatment through the office of the hospital.  All details of the patient as well as the treatment will be provided to the prospective sponsor, the hospital encourages such ‘one-to-one’ sponsors to be present during the procedures.

• Fixed Fund or ‘Cluster’ method:
  Those interested or espousing a long-term cause can set-up a fixed fund with Dinesh Porwal Charitable Trust (though no tax exemptions available currently) for a particular amount or number of treatments. Full details of the utilization of the donations will be provided to the sponsor which can be supervised or verified independently.

RETINA HOSPITAL COMMITMENT TO PATIENTS & SPONSORS

All sponsored treatments at Retina Hospital will be carried out at 50% of regular charges, in other words – either Retina Hospital or Dinesh Porwal Charitable Trust will bear half the cost for these treatments keeping with their objective of

• Making the treatments possible for patients in need of assistance,
• Lessening the financial burden on the interested sponsors, and
• Contribution from Retina Hospital or Dinesh Porwal Charitable Trust on an equal basis as a community charity service to deserving patients.
