Surgical Equipment & Technology at Retina Hospital
Leica Surgical Operating Microscope (M822) with X-Y, Zoom and Sony HD Camera
This latest high-end operating microscope from Germany provides the surgeon with the optimum control and finesse required during the demanding vitreo-retinal surgeries. A Sony HD camera from Japan with an HD recorder attached to the operating microscope serves to record the surgeries and analyze them scientifically for academic purposes.
Wide-angle Surgical Viewing system
The Binocular Indirect Ophthalmo Microscope (BIOM-IV) system from Oculus, Switzerland, attached to the operating microscope with a Stereoscopic Diagonal Inverter (SDI) give a crisp, large-field, wide-angle, non-contact view of the patient's retina and is a boon for the Vitreo-Retinal surgeon during Vitrectomy surgeries.
Constellation High speed Vitrectomy System
This high-end Vitrectomy machine from Alcon, USA is considered to be the best in its class in the world for MIVS – Micro Incision Vitreo-Retinal Surgery. It has the latest capacity for 7500 cuts/minute, use sutureless 23, 25 & 27 gauge instrumentation, a strong phacofragmatome as well as an injector for silicone oil in addition to standard functions for vitrectomy surgery maximizing the dexterity & results of the surgeon.
Nidek Yellow Pattern Laser for Retinal Photocoagulation
This latest Yellow wavelength (577nm) Pattern Retinal Laser from Nidek, Japan provides faster, safer & more precise retinal laser treatments with additional safety to the central retina of our patients has been recently added to Retina Hospital. Very few centres in India possess the latest Yellow Pattern Laser currently. This laser makes laser treatments more comfortable and convenient to the stressed-out retina patients.
Green Laser for Retinal Photocoagulation
This double-frequency Nd-YAG laser (532nm) is a gold-standard for treatment of many retinal pathologies by Photocoagulation. All three modes of green laser delivery – through a Slit-lamp biomicroscope for the macular pathologies (with the patient seated), through the Laser Indirect Ophthalmoscope (LIO) for the peripheral retinal pathologies (with the patient lying down) as well as through the Endoprobe (for laser use inside the eye during surgery) are available at Retina Hospital from the beginning.
Primary Ophthalmic Surgical infrastructure
Retina Hospital is equipped with a spacious Operating Room with motorized operating table, Boyle's apparatus, Pulse Oximeter with plethysmograph, High-speed sterilizer and Air-purifier in addition to the latest speciality set- up for Vitreo-Retinal Surgeries.
